Camping in Melinjo Island, Thousand Islands Regency

In Indonesia, you can find Melinjo Trees. There is a beautiful island with the same name, though. It is part of “Kepulauan Seribu”. The name is Melinjo Island. The location is near to Harapan Island. In the past, the island became a base of Indonesian Custom. Today, it is a tourist destination, especially for campers. A good landscape and solemn nature make a perfect camping site. Not to mention it is the home of wild birds and lizards. The thing is you should have a permit in visiting the island. After all, it is a private island.

The Nuance
In the beach, you may encounter soft and sloping landscape. In the back, there is a higher land. It is located under the trees. Also, it becomes campers’ favorite spot. Shady trees and sea scenery make a perfect atmosphere for them. During holidays, you may find several visitors in such location. If you don’t act fast, you won’t get a good spot! For many, holidays aren’t a good time to visit Melinjo Island. Many campers have already been there before you. As the result, you aren’t able to get a good location to build a tent.

Exploring Melinjo Island
Once you have arrived at Melinjo Island, you should ask permission from the keeper. He lives in there, after all. No worries. He is a good person. Almost all tourists are allowed to explore and stay a few days on the island. As long as you don’t cause a ruckus, you are free to roam around. If you come for camping, both west and east parts of the island are a perfect choice. Those are quieter and more comfortable than other spots. Not to mention they are located near to the pier.

It is an independent activity. Campers don’t depend on any tour agency. That means you must prepare everything by your own. This gives you a unique experience, though. You are going to enjoy living in nature. These include building a tent, gathering woods, and cooking. In the evening, you should ignite a bonfire. The mood becomes better if you carry a guitar and sing along with your friends. Sometimes, you can hear the sounds of nature, especially the bats. Have no fear. They cause no harms to visitors.

In the morning, you can see a stunning sunrise from the pier. Next, it is time for snorkeling. The reefs may amaze you! There are numerous types of fishes such a bat fish, eel, lionfish, and even sea turtles. In the afternoon, there is a mesmerizing sunset. You can enjoy it from the same place. Some crows are wandering around. This creates a rustic atmosphere. At night, don’t forget to make a cup of coffee. Overall, it is going to be a wonderful camping experience.
